Answer:
There is a product called Soil Builder which is ideal for trying to address heavy, wet soils. It contains sphagnum peat moss, organic compost, fish meal, kelp, gypsum and zeolite. It will help Improve drainage, retain moisture, break up clay, retains nutrients for slow release as plants need it.

kb-104 - I have hard, heavy soil what can I do?
Answer:
The addition of Zeolite to your soil will help loosen up the soil, improve drainage and help retain moisture. Zeolite is natural occurring volcanic rock that has long term soil improvement because it doesn't break down.
Question:
kb-163 - I have perennials growing in some of my planters and containers. Can I leave them in the containers for winter or what should I do?
Answer:
No, because of Calgary's unpredictable weather and our Chinooks plants won't survive in containers overwinter. There are a couple of ways you can winter these plants. You can pull them out of the planter and plant them into the ground. Another option is to plant the entire container, plants and all into the ground, then pull the container up in the spring once the ground thaws.

kb-162 - I planted a bunch of different perennials last year but none of them seem to have survived, what happened?
Answer:
In the spring, perennials have their own schedule. Some will come up early and some will take their time. The best thing to do is be patient, give it time and see what happens. In many cases, with some sunshine and moisture perennials will start coming up.
